What I’m starting to wonder is how many folks will actually come back? If offered jobs at Fed Ex, UPS etc., or potentially another major when things turn around? I know going into this whole crisis, Delta was a lot of people’s top choice (it was mine when I was hired). Granted, there will always be people that want to fly here. But depending on how our group is treated as compared to other pilot groups across the industry, could make/break the difference between Delta being a new hire’s top choice vs bottom choice, which will affect quality of the airline in the long run. Granted, hiring is a non-issue right now, but those retirements aren’t going away. Everyone will be hiring again in the next 5 years. Just food for thought.
