If they notified the company in advance they would not accept a extension they should be paid. A extension should not be forced. If they failed to give the company reasonable notice they would refuse a extension than they should not be paid.
I’m betting it’s the other way around. The company first needs to notify you that they are applying the extension, ( from my first hand experience, they are not) then yes, pilot should notify CP if they are uncomfortable with said extension. This pilot is based in NYC and is not the first.
