But none of the speculation matters. Thanks to Americans that deliberately choose not to mask up, the virus will crush all your airline hopes and dreams. One more round of TSA numbers in the 80k or less mark, it’ll be a very long time before we worry about seats being removed or dumb things like scope.
Delta won’t bring the Regional aircraft to mainline on the simple fact that it would be a lot more costly for them to operate those aircraft with their pilot group and flight attendants also the added training cost to get those pilots trained into the CRJ/ERJ and to get the entire flight attendant group gained would be a massive cost at a time they are doing everything they can to conserve cash. A simple guess I believe force
majeure the clause that lets a party cut ties or nullify a contract based on unforeseen events or an act of god will probably be used to free Delta from the scope obligation until normal times return and in the meantime they will utilize regional carriers to get back to a more profitable place until demand returns and those larger aircraft make sense on routes that they once were used on. There has also been talk that a carrier is looking at using the same clause to only pay two mouth of unemployment instead of the three months that is outlined but I don’t know how much truth is behind this. Again only my outlook on it I’m just going to go into the bunker to hide from the anticipated incoming fire. PS happy Independence Day.
