October 1st is the soonest, but is there anything stopping the company from just pushing the affective date back a few days?
No there isn’t and I didn’t mean to imply that those of us hired prior are permanently safe from furlough, just that we might escape the first round of culling. Every day that passes while meaningfully employed is more money that can be stashed in the emergency fund, more time to possibly see signs of life return to our industry, and more time for the scientists to find a vaccine.
It also affords me another opportunity to work on my Syrio Forel impression:
”What do we say to the God of Furlough?”
”Not today.”
