As I stated I think a pilot should be able to refuse a extension. He should however give notice so the company can get him in the sim if they choose. Would you consider it ok to simply no show the trip and demand to be paid? Is one hour enough notice?
If an extension is optional, then it should be assumed I’m not taking it. The company failed by not reaching out and making the same unsafe assumptions they once did with FDP extensions.
