Delta hasn't announced any flight attendant furloughs but sent out 2558 pilot furlough notices.
Yes, it makes perfect sense given the nature of our jobs and training vs. their training for all aircraft. Plus we can continue to do cargo only flights without the need for FAs, though this is starting to taper off compared to the past few months. Admittedly I tuned in for just a couple of minutes of that recent Operations Town Hall on Tuesday night. One of the anonymous questions I read had a hint of "us vs. them" tone to it...meaning other employees vs. pilots. Essentially the questioner wanted to know if all employee groups are going to be treated equally in layoff notices and specifically mentioned pilots vs. other groups. Now it could have been a pilot asking this but I got the sense another employee wanted to know if pilots were going to sacrifice as much as others. Didn't listen past the first few minutes as it was more of the same.
