I thought the same thing when this all first started back in March. I was certain that by August people would have moved on and accepted the risk vs reward. But now it doesn't look that way. Large numbers of idiots are actually terrified of this thing, acting like catching it is a death sentence.
It's a bunch of self-entitled people like you not taking this seriously that are the problem. Sure, most people are asymptomatic, but the problem with that is they can easily transmit it to people with health issues or others in the high-risk category. Not to mention, even if someone recovers, they are multitude of possible long-term health complications that can pop up.
