At dal its likely the loss of ones medical would be substantially more money than the severance.
After 3 months of sick time is burned next 12 months would be at full pay. Then drop to 50% of highest 12 in last 36months. Pre covid W2s were likely 1.5 or more of normal with profit sharing and premium pay.
Plus 401k that doubles from 16% to 32%. My LTD number is easily double the severance payout
