sure we OPERATE by the FARs.....we FLY by SOP. The FARs/FOM say thou shalt land their airplane on a runway. Standards (who are pilots) lay out how we intend to land on the runway in the more controlling FM. So therefore pilots tell pilots how to FLY.....Andy is correct that the company nor the FAA tell us HOW to fly our aircraft.

the FAA has an opinion of course but their opinion is certainly NOT do it like Delta.
