jetlaggy I’m quoting this post again to respond. The FAA does not tel is how to fly. They tell us how to OPERATE. There is a difference. They give all airlines the same template and then each airline creates their own SOPs. United flies their aircraft different than every other airline. Some things may be close but they are certainly NOT 100%. That should have been obvious during the merger.
most obvious example. CAL CAs started and shut down the engines. UAL FOs started and shut down the engines. The FAA didn’t care as long as they saw the correct pilot start and shutdown the engines.
