The early out package is fine, but am I the only one who's worried about the furlough plus packages?
The ONLY thing that was keeping the company from knocking 6,000 off the list was Kirby's desire to "be in a position to bounce back quickly". Furlough (and recall) is intentionally built to be a painful process for the company.
Considering that we voted yes on the furlough fund so that furloughed pilots would be able to keep bennies, isn't this ONLY a win for the company? Now they can keep a large portion of pilots current for the cost of training instead of monthly guarantee PLUS the cost of training.
Is there any reason I shouldn't think this will lead to more furloughs, not fewer?
