It quite literally is the flu. Here is Dr. Fauci saying so with his colleagues. He compares it to severe seasonal flus. Private Dr. Fauci and public Dr. Fauci are two very different people. he goes on TV the very next day after he put this report out and contradicts himself.

Here is also the CDC putting out a chart over a month ago BEFORE cases went up and deaths are down comparing it to the flu numerically.
