If they are projecting it they have to put in on there? I could be wrong
We are serious about it, but timing it will be tough. I cannot find any requirement to post a projected vacancy in a system bid like there is for known flying other than under supplemental bid it says “should an unforeseen change in the system schedule warrant a change in staffing, crew planning may post a supplemental system bid at any time.” You can argue that London is not “unforeseen,” but I don’t think the company would have trouble arguing that the schedule to London is unforeseen or uncertain given that it’s already been pushed back and with the current travel demand uncertainty. Also, supplemental bids are advantageous to the pilot group, so it’d probably be no skin off ALPA’s back if they did that.
If it isn’t on the system bid, I wouldn’t read into that as us being not serious about it. We wouldn’t have firm orders for LR/XLRs, pay for a contractor to set up ETOPS, have all the public fanfare, etc. imo.
