But today we still have the Railway Labor Act, FAR’s and riding herd on it all is the FAA who’s stated purpose is to promote aviation safety AND commerce (which sometimes conflict with each other).

We certainly are the most regulated deregulated industry I can think of.

As far as the RLA goes, I would rather work at a unionized airline than non-Union. I have worked at both.
