I’m of the opinion XJT’s fate is set and UAX is taking advantage of a bleeding man by stealing his wallet. The block hours aren’t there, XJT doesn’t own their jets, and too many top tier or max pay pilots.

For an entry level pilot to come in now it’s $40/hr and say 80hrs avg line.

$40 x 80 x 12= $38,400 before taxes, insurance, 401k
No more sign on bonus.
Per Diem is not included because it’s not salary.
$40 hr is assuming you fly 75hr avg per quarter for the quarterly bonus which no new pilot will make until 2 or 3 quarters with a line.
With concessions, take home pay will be in the mid to high 20’s...all after $70k+ in training, 4 year degrees to be competitive, and hustling for 1500hrs min ATP (which will be meaningless because requirements will go up now to compete with furloughed pilots).

If XJT accepts pay and benefit cut it will have a trickle down effect to every regional and set the industry back 20 years. Working for 2002 dollars in 2020.

Remember ‘you must sign this contract to get the 175s‘. Then they got rid of them. Remember Letter 2? XJT is being used as pawns to whip saw the industry. Not just XJT but all regional need to stand their ground for this to work. Time to Braveheart this b*tch!!
Scott Kirby is probably looking for something similar to Piedmonts 2013 whipsaw contract for the UAX 50 seat carriers. 11 days off, 14 max, 12 yr CA payscale topping out at $90.54/hr, 10 years until the next renegotiation.

Pay at the AA wholly owned regionals improved almost immediately upon Kirby’s ousting from AAG. Pay and QOL increases had been improving constantly since his departure.

Goodluck.
