Tangentially, FedEx has eleven “global class” business jets and forty-three corporate pilots sitting in Memphis doing very little since the business travel end of things collapsed. Wouldn’t it make sense to position some of these assets to Asia, much like we did in Guam at the start of the Covid crisis, to immediately evacuate any pilots testing positive in the areas where quarantine facilities are subpar? The corporate pilots are being paid either way, and it might mitigate some of the apprehension felt regarding quarantine roulette.
I think that was addressed (why they aren’t doing it) in an update by the CP last week on pfc.
