You pick a bunch of jobs which are traditionally non-tipping jobs to then compare to what has been a traditional tipping job to make your point?
Ask the same question about comparable jobs if you want a true comparison.
Do you tip a waitress?
Do you tip a bartender?
Do you tip a barber?
Do you tip a bellman?
Do you tip a Lyft/Uber/taxi driver?
A point has been made on this thread that the van driver is not in a position to be JUST the van driver and might be making a regular wage and not dependent on tips. True I guess. I have tipped the manager when that person has stepped up because I’m tipping the position, same as I would if the manager helped out at the hotel bar too.
Serious question for those of you whom said that you only get some amount per hour. That is for a 24 hr period correct.
In your contract Is it actually called Per Diem or is it still called M&IE? Someone brought up the language in the CBA. Does that language include incidental expenses?
