When I did it the amount was 70K. I'm not surprised it has gone up. Sounds like you know all about it. Good. I almost missed out because I almost did not file. I filed on the last day possible something like 2 or 3 years after the fact. Whew!

When I called the State of California they said they wanted their share regardless of whether I paid the feds or not. I moved back to another state when I came back to avoid any questions. Also SSI said I should pay if I wanted SS retirement. Laughable
