United wouldn't have asked for concessions from XJT to match C5 if they didn't want XJT. Think about it. If it TRULY was all based on costs, United would just shut down XJT and grow C5 when needed.
This is what is happening - United is using C5 as a pawn to get XJT to take concessions. Once this occurs, C5 will shut down (as already planned).
Just showing the other side, but couldn’t United have already basically chosen C5 and the only option XJT has is to take concessions and try to match it?
Regardless crappy position for both airlines.
