The 550 will never work in EWR or IAD. Why? Business travelers who want to go to NYC fly into LGA. Business travelers who want to go to DC fly into DCA.
For United, that plane is ORD or bust.
Metro now goes to IAD. DCA not really as important as it once was. Also much of the biggest business is in McLean and Tysons and IAD is more convenient for those areas.
