When did OO buy these 15 -200’s that you’re talking about? Pre-Covid?
Why would CC purchase any -200’s when we just permanently retired dozens of them?
The only reason I can think of would be to lease them back to PSA, or another outfit.

This OO Inc likes to do this.

And the previous poster is correct about the 700’s.
They were all being delivered or coming online since... like a year ago? It was part of a pre-Covid contract with AA.

—->I’m intensely curious as to what your “OO wants to buy PSA” theory is.

My “unsubstantiated theory” still stands to reason...
Why would OO want to buy MORE CRJ’s since we have 1) retired a huge number of 200’s and 2) have an insane lack of CRJ flying?
OO is transitioning massive numbers of CRJ pilots to the 175 because our CRJ flying is going the way of the dodo.
Likely purchased the PSA 200s because they were the newest -200's manufactured. Likely just a tail substitution for United 200 flying. Also likely the purchase was closed before they lost the Delta 200 flying. They were all Flaps 8 200s with ADSB upgrade.

They were also retired arbitrarily by AA, so it's unlikely they all had timed out engines and heavy airframe inspections due. Their role was to service DCA until the new terminal gets built which now appears will happen before Covid wraps up.
