Personally I wont waste my time to back up the paper, take it for what it’s worth, also I posted it as an "interesting read" remember. But if I had several hours of worthless time I could I’m sure back up most of what was said. But as far as the Prius doing more environmental damage than a hummer, I think we all know that’s a bit of a stretch. He came up with those figures by comparing the estimated life of the Prius to the Hummer 100k vs. 300k. Sure you can twist numbers to make any point you want. You should be able to see right through that.... If you are so skeptical please post links with solid facts disagreeing with the paper rather than just state it has no creditability because it is an "OPINION piece from a student newspaper".
