Cleared for the visual and landing into KBUF rwy 13 from FL240. Center asked if it was true about the 3 holer that you could start down when the runway went under your nose. He worked it out and cleared us all the way down from altitude.
30 years ago flying freight.
The 727 could come down so fast it would generate a low altitude alert from ATC when you were still 5000' above the ground.
