How much are you flying, how much of it is on the ground? 8 on 6 off can mean something very different based on what company you are talking about and the kind of flying they are doing. Im on Flex and asked for Labor Day weekend off. I was awarded it off but pay for it down the road with two 9 day rotations with 4 days off in between. On the other hand I’m off 10 days in a row before that starts. Flex can be very good to you or can be rough. I had a 7 day rotation went on 3 days off and back in for 10 this month. You can set your days however you like and ask for certain time off. You can set max days as well. 8 days is the minimum and 15 is the max. I normally set 9 days max. I was asked to to 10 this month because of day I had asked to have off. I hope all that explains a little bit of what the schedule is like on flex.

As far as flying. We don’t sit too often. If we do it’s at the hotel. We don’t do airport rot. Most days are 2-3 legs. Looking back I’m averaging around 65 hours a month of flying right now. Most trips are TEB-LAX-VNY sorta thing as an example. Long transcon followed by a short repo flight. Sometimes you may get a day where the longest leg is only a 2 hour leg though. It all really varies. Lots of TEB-PBI sorta trips.

Anyway. Hope that helps out a bit. If you go read the actual XO jet thread on here there is a ton of info. This is just a new thread and it seems a lot of things are getting repeated.
