NO ONE at C5 or ALPA is happy about this!

C5 didnt win anything! In fact C5 did absolutely NOTHING to entice UA to pick them, not one promise was made, not one concession was asked for or given.

The world has changed overnight. C5 MEC can do nothing other than press the company to preferential hiring of pilots of airlines that have closed, but the company doesn't have to do anything of the sort in this current climate.

C5 could fly both theirs and EV's September schedule with out having to hire anyone. I doubt block hours increase too much in 2020. I would expect very little if any hiring from C5 before the end of the year.

Correct

It is clear from statements made by management that they know they have the upper hand. They aren't trying to sour the relationship but they also don't see much need to be dangling carrots right now.

The MEC has mostly been rebuffed in their efforts to achieve anything substantial. Should they announce that publicly and pick a big fight in this environment?

They are doing the best they can and all of us have nothing but sympathy for our fellow pilots who are losing their jobs. I wish we could help all of them. In reality we will probably only be able to help a small number.
