My understanding is yes. Part of the LOA was that the company will not appeal or object to any unemployment claims. I could be way off and it may vary by state, but once an unemployment claim is filed, that claim is sent to the person’s employer. The employer then has a specified amount of time to object to the claim (person is still employed, person voluntarily quit, etc.). If the employer doesn’t object or misses their window to do so, the employee gets paid. It sounds like there could potentially be a little bit of double dipping going on for those on a COLA 0. However, as many have pointed out, how much open time will someone really be able to grab? I agree completely on the need for a credit cap for that to work out in favor of the COLA 0 holders.
