Quote: Wasn’t the reason there were no VEOP’s awarded because a bunch of 64 year olds with only months left put in for it, and when the company went to APA about the situation, APA dug in and thus no one got VEOP.

So basically APA protecting the guys that really didn’t need the VEOP and were actually going to make a bunch of cash off it rather than naturally hitting retirement?
This is what my base rep said of the VEOP debacle.

"So, when they wanted to go back after we signed the deal and prorate the entire payout for anyone getting a VEOP we told them we’d consider it as long as they guaranteed a 1:1 furlough mitigation for any VEOP awarded. They refused to do that and said we won’t award any instead. Basically, after the signed the deal, they decided they didn’t like what they had signed. They came back with a crappier offer for the VEOP and we said “if you want a to offer a crappier than deal than what you agreed to, ensure that furloughs are mitigated with these VEOP award.” The answer was no."
