Every airline has gone into some sort of survival mode. Kirby and company have done a monumental task in reducing costs (69%). My contention is that it seems like our managements final objective is to preserve cash at all cost instead of finding a balance of a“new and improved culture”and cash.
RJDio, I fully agree that COVID has been overblown by the media. One of the problems with COVID is that the severity of it varies so greatly between individuals. So of course the media goes for 'if it bleeds it leads' and cherry picks the worst cases. But that has put a lot of fear into people out there. ... just wait for someone to come along here and complain how I've trivialized it.

I don't know what's going on in WHQ, but let's keep in mind that from most descriptions, Kirby's a cold calculating numbers guy. More a Mr Spock-type than a human for the Star Trek fans. He's not Oscar and never will be so anyone looking for an Oscar/Gordo type is going to be disappointed. I'd more call him cast from the same mold as American's Crandall - to expect otherwise will lead to disappointment. To paraphrase one of the Seinfield characters, 'NO HUGS FOR YOU!'

Personally, CORE4 doesn't mean crap to me compared to keeping the company out of bankruptcy. And I think that Kirby's probably the guy to have at the helm during this sucko time.

In closing, I've got Dio tracks playing from youtube right now; I'm a fan (RIP RJ). Reminds me of Ritchie Blackmore.
