If you will be furloughed on October 1st, i don’t think it matters. You will get paid the hours in your vacation bank. If you were to be furloughed at a later date, it would behoove you to move that vacation to a date after your projected furlough date so you get paid the vacation bank. If you are UNA for October, I’d try and move it to a later date.
