The older guys, on the other hand, may not have had any idea of what they were getting into. They had been busy in other careers and, until recently, were just enjoying being airline pilots.

I can only echo, again, what most of the pilots on here have been saying - Learn about the history of your profession, what’s going on now is nothing new, only the circumstances are different. This has always been a volatile industry and will continue to be so. Just my opinion, but this will get worse before it gets better. I’m looking at a downgrade, I would love to be wrong about it getting worse.
I agree with you “only the circumstances are difficult” statement. These circumstances are very much media driven. News about how scary and deadly Covid is. It’s not. Call me a denier but only 9% of Covid fatalities didn’t have other fatal conditions along with it. The country was shut down due to people dying. Yes it’s sad. But the country will recover with time as more information surfaces about the actual facts emerge. Mostly after the election. It’s gonna be either “suck it our planned worked” or “suck it up for another 4 years” and the US will return to its normal bickering about other stuff. This circumstance is temporary. The MOU is temporary. Give Mesa and it’s employees the time for this circumstance to go away before things return to normal. Or just wait 2 hours for the town hall and we can all have more information about the situation
