I just have sympathy for my FOs who this is 100% not their fault and I’m willing to go down to a 60-65 hour guarantee if it will continue to give these young guys and girls income and most of all insurance for their families. That 10 hour comes out to 1000$ a month cut. No big deal. But mostly because I don’t have child support or alimony because again, not your average old pilot here.
I am sympathetic for them as well, I certainly don’t want to see any furloughs. Maybe if we made more (Or our insurance was cheaper) I would be in a better position be feel more generous, but as it is I am very likely to be downgraded. Going back to FO pay at a reduced guarantee while I’m pay $628/month for insurance Is going to be a major problem. It’s a big deal for me.

In the end, we are all going to be screwed to some degree.

This virus and the resulting fall out will last well into next year. The “temporary” guarantee is not going to end at the end of the year, I promise they will be looking for another extension and maybe more by then. Regardless of what we give back we will see furloughs and downgrades.
