Do your due diligence. We've been merciful to a fault with some, and we've been petty and punitive to others. Keep your head down and move the freight will get you promoted into whatever spot you want. If you're at a point in life where you're tired of being quiet, wait til you are off probation.
It's like any other job you've had.
