Once I realized that Skywest (one of the most profitable airlines in the industry over the last 6 years) wasn't willing to compensate me in a manner that exceeded the rate of inflation, AND forced me to fly larger equipment for the same pay rate, I decided to pursue a career elsewhere. I believe that skywest pilots, as a group, don't value their skillset very much (aiming low). Why else would they vote for and defend the recently introduced payscale. If you're happy there then that's fine. I am very happy where I am at and I can assure you that I have a life.
