What mountains of data has shown is that illegitimacy rates in a group are a primary contributing factor to a much higher rate of dropping out, poverty, crime, and incarceration. The illegitimacy rate in the black community is much higher than in other communities, and therefore, they have a disproportionate negative outcome. It isn’t what history has done to us, it is what we have done to ourselves. That is what needs to be addressed. We like to rise up about the outcome, but it isn’t PC to rise up about the source of the problem. You can’t suggest that people not have kids out of wedlock, that crime is to be avoided and shamed, that authority figures are to be respected, or that people in poor communities should have access to charter schools or given vouchers to give them school choices, rather than remain trapped in horrible government run schools where most students fail to meet the basic minimum standard. When black people like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Larry Elder, or Candace Owens try to point out these things they are shouted down as being an Uncle Tom, or some other derogatory term by the majority of the people in their community who they are trying to help.
Try Glenn Loury, John McHorter, and Coleman Hughes. I love listening to these guys.
