I've got say that a movie with two bleh looking main characters doing a two hour running gag on Eurovision, itself a show thats been viewed by 1/4 of 1% of Americans was a bold move, unless it was just a tax dodge to hang out in Edinburgh and Iceland, the whole time. Kind of like what "Hatari!" was for John Wayne and buds, basically an excuse to drink in Africa while telling your agent and wife, you're "working."
