speaking on United, I think the rumor was everyone was pay protected to their pre displacement pay rate. If the company can’t or chooses not to put them back where they were in March they will still get paid that rate. Something like that could work here.
also there the bottom 1/3 of the list is almost exactly all the post merger hires. UAL has said everyone in that group is at risk and actually sent furlough notices to most of them. For us a better cut line might be the group hired since the beginning of 2014, or just the bottom 2558/1941 rather than just blindly cutting into 3rds
