Sounds like those kids need to take on some of the responsibility themselves then. Look, I get it.. it means the world to a parent to be able to pay for their kid’s education. I didn’t have it and I’m saving aggressively in 529s to alleviate that burden later on for my own; however, if your buddy hasn’t done that and will not be able to pay cash right away there are still plenty of options. Namely parent plus government loans and student loans that can all be mitigated over time. It can even be his kid’s shared burden. The free ride has to end eventually. I mean hell, what about the first officer that’s about to go to $0 income with a normal house, one wife, and kids in college? Everyone has a situation.

Ugh, come on guys. This is not a “new” guy vs. senior guy thing so there’s no need to infer divisive assumptions. If this is as large of a turd as the wild rumors and speculation suggest then sure, I ain’t voting for it and I’m absolutely losing my job here; however, there is nothing legit to read or discuss besides reactive emotions to a sensitive subject being driven by rumor-mills that are historically full of ****.

You’ll all get to fight about something real later next week or perhaps agree on something. Have a good weekend. 🍺
