Sounds reasonable. But we have a contract. They have billions today but they don't want to spend them. They have access to more billions but they don't want to borrow them. They want US to go full-on Kumbaya and do the heavy lifting. To pay for their flexibility. They will use this event to set the stage for the next bad news event and the next. They want the ability to shrink the airline as they see fit whenever they see fit, forever. Seasonal fluctuations? No problem. Recession? "No problem! The pilots will gladly take less because this is such a cool job!" We are on the cusp of institutionalizing migrant worker status. It's their problem. We fly, they manage. Did they offer us more money when they were flush enough to buy 9B in stock?
But now its all about US helping THEM save some MONEY. Only, it's couched in Jobs jobs jobs. The 9B they pi$$ed away? Forget about that. There are a lot of layers to this onion. But they want us to focus on just one. To make US the boogeyman. Are any other airlines pilots considering this?
