Things are better now BECAUSE of the civil rights movement. People thought they were terrorists and anarchists and socialists and communists then too. But their sacrifice and dedication is why we are where we are at today.

People love to talk about going back to the 90's or early 00's when we "didn't have these problems". They existed then too, but we lacked the ability to easily organise and share our experiences like we have now with the internet and social media.

We still have a lot of work to do, and it starts with not taking our foot off the gas. Just like in politics, the media amplifies the loudest voices and often times those people don't speak for me. Listen to the message not the messenger.
