I never said things weren't better. And in 40 years they'll be better than I are now. I know it takes time. It also takes movements. Larry and condoleezza (who are both very very conservative pundits) are right, that we've come a long way since the 60's. However they are both very good at deflecting. They both argue that because things are better than I were, there are no more problems. They love to say that because one of the problems is X that Y isn't legitimate. How we got here is way more complicated than these two make it out to be.

Things are better now BECAUSE of the civil rights movement. People thought they were terrorists and anarchists and socialists and communists then too. But their sacrifice and dedication is why we are where we are at today.

People love to talk about going back to the 90's or early 00's when we "didn't have these problems". They existed then too, but we lacked the ability to easily organise and share our experiences like we have now with the internet and social media.

We still have a lot of work to do, and it starts with not taking our foot off the gas. Just like in politics, the media amplifies the loudest voices and often times those people don't speak for me. Listen to the message not the messenger.
