They are both tragic circumstances, but my point is that law enforcement must be held to a higher standard because of their powers, their duty to uphold the law and departmental policies, and well, they should know better.
We therefore shouldn't shrug our shoulders and say "Well, blacks are killing blacks in record numbers and are not being held accountable, so it is unfair to hold law enforcement accountable because they kill much less blacks!"
It sounds to me like if I stated the well known quote related to justice: "It is better that 100 guilty men go free, than 1 innocent man be convicted.", you would accuse me of advocating for criminals not be punished for their crimes. hahaha
You missed my point brother.
P. S. And FWIW, I am very pro L.E.
I didn't intend to come down so hard but numbers don't lie. In 2019 the number of unarmed blacks killed by police was between nine and fifteen. The point I am making is that there is so much outrage and allegations of racism with that relatively small number of deaths while almost no outrage at the unthinkable number of our youth being killed every day by our own (all races). I am sickened to see how some people and groups are using a small number of situations to profit. Of those 9-15 shootings most are eventually born out to be justifiable but so much damage is done by mischaracterizing and demagoguing the situation and another generation grows up to mistrust authority and the cycle continues.
