What does a NASA report or an ASAP have to do with anything? No such thing exists in policing to simply file a report and be free of repercussion for making a mistake.Those things have their place and should remain in place but I have no idea what they have to do with the topic.

Police have legal protections for actions they take while in the line of duty that are adjudicated to be legal and correct. They have unions to protect them when they have 18 complaints of misconduct over 20 years as was the case with the officer who held his knee on George Floyd's neck for eight minutes.
