As well they should. Do you know what it takes to file a claim of "misconduct"? A phone call or an email, that's it and supported or not, it goes in your jacket as a complaint. I in NO way am justifying holding knees on necks for 8 mins, not at all and he will have to answer for it, period. Now whether they were overcharged by an overzealous prosecutor who has little chance of meeting the legal standard of the charges he presented is an entirely different story and may lead to acquittals as a result of feelings and the public tide over practicing good law. If you're talking about qualified immunity then you clearly are not picking up what I'm putting down. Police unions exist chiefly to protect them against their employer and have have nothing to do with QI whatsoever, that's a legislative protection that rightly protects LEO's when they act in a manner consistent with their training and experience. Bottom line, LEO unions do not keep and cannot keep guys like the MSP 4 and Chauvin out of jail or immune from prosecution.
