Assuming you are going to stay at Mesa for more than 6 years that would be something to consider, I agree. I like the thinking outside the box. Mainline will begin hiring in the next 30-36 months, or sooner.
However, most of the FO’s will move on in short order once they can transition to the left seat and get a few hours. The furloughed pilots will be back within 18 months, if not sooner. No one has gotten letters for furlough in the mail or email yet. It appears that they company very well could be bluffing. Why would they not give 14 days notice per PWA? Would be weird of them to furlough mid month, or after Oct 1st. Could be possible. We shall see one more day from now.
UPS is still hiring pilots if you have the 1000 PIC. Good amount of jobs on LinkedIn right now, just not Part 121 jobs.
