#7 means an across the board pay hike for all seats with 6% the first year, 5% the second year, 4% the third year, and 3% the fourth year. I would be fine with 7% going to the 401K instead of the B-fund. It's 6 in one and half a dozen in the other. I guess we would lose that big $500 that FedEx currently kicks into the 401K. The gain would be maxing out the 401k earlier in the year. If I put in 15% and the company matches 7%, my 401k reaches the max sooner. After maxing out the 401k, the 7% would continue but go to the optional savings plan. The incentive to FedEx would be one less retirement program to administer.
