I think if the airlines and particularly Delta in our case were a real covid vector the media would have been all over that like stink on crap, but they haven't. Which leads me to believe something about the airlines is working. Or possibly a combination of some things (plural on "things").
And yes I think we generally need to get on with life if we are young and healthy. The second third and fourth order consequences are too great.

With contact tracing data coming in for the past 6 months, it's becoming clear that Covid(with the exception of healthcare facilities) isn't being contracted outside of restaurants, and possibly bars. As far as airlines, not a single US carrier has had a confirmed outbreak event, and less than 5 possible singular transmissions for all the millions we have transported during this pandemic, and the 10's of thousand of contact traces of passengers. People can safely travel on flights, the airlines need to get the word out, as well as the government/cdc.
