Over at Delta the hardliners have tried to convince the masses that voluntary paid leaves are concessions, because the rest of the pilots might have more reserve usage or can't get holidays off. All the while telling pilots its better to furlough than allow paid- leaves. Beware of the hardliners whose only motive is their status quo.
what amazes me is this does not appear to be a small minority here (DL). Our MEC was considering killing a LOA that had only voluntary measures like blank lines and ultra long call reserve because of the feedback they got from the pilot group. There is still a good chance this does not pass membership ratification. And if it does I’d be kinda surprised to see more than 65% for it.
