This is correct. Say what you will about Delta management, but they know their customer and their market. They have the data they need to make decisions on this. They have been charging a premium for their product for years and continue to do so. AA is packing them deep and selling them cheap. Delta is taking a different approach and it will work. With that said, demand isn't going to get anywhere near 2019 levels for a long time, so buckle up.
Not to be a distraction What about just 2017 levels? I think we'd all settle for 2016 levels too. 2019 wasnt a lot of fun, we had 14000 pilots and we needed about 15000 for it. Weve got 12900 pilots with less each month.
