You really should explain your rational for that statement to your pilots. Coming from somebody inside a union, it's very odd indeed.

17 flights today and 81 people on the reserve list for today. Nothing is going to cancel due to staffing.
if staffing is low and flights will cancel if OT isn’t picked up, then it makes sense not to pick up OT to incentivize recalls. If there’s no chance of cancelation due to staffing then picking up OT benefits the pilot, hurts the company and has zero effect on furloughed pilots.
only a Sith deals in absolutes and this situation has nuance.
