The next 2 years are going to be the worst, imo. Retirements, along with too many trainees to train at once, will put an enormous burden on all atc'rs. Not really much as a pilot you can do, aside from paying attention to the radios and don't overburden the controller with endless "direct" requests. You can as a citizen, let your voice be heard to your Senators and Congressmen about the state of affairs. If ONLY the Senate would get this bill moving again, it would help immensely with the strained labor relations. That in turn, might keep the floodgates of retirements from staying wide-open, as they are today.
