This is due to the way Displacement and Position are defined in our contract (Category/Class, not Domicile). If you're living in Rio Linda, that means taking our seniority away, and forcing us to commute into a base we don't want (Allentown, Des Moines, Grand Rapids, etc) while pilots junior to us stay in the bases we do want. This comes after they laid off 200 pilots (20% of our list). All while they brag to their investors what great financial shape the company is in. They are profiting off the pandemic.
Last week, they announced that they are suing Arbitrator Richard Bloch in federal court, because they lost an arbitration award over forcing us into "must work days", while junior pilots get the day off, in violation of our contract. This sort of bad faith move is completely unheard of, and just another delay mechanism to avoid compliance with the ruling.
Everyone who comes here is sold sleeping in their own bed every night. Some pilots even talk about how they will accept lower compensation just to be home every night, unlike every other airline. If they go through with this, they will never get another pilot to come work here after this gets around. We are witnessing the death blow of Americas's most profitable airline. Frank Lorenzo is laughing in hell right now.
It's a little much don't you think? There will always be pilots who will come work here, you might not like it but its the truth. The question is will they stay? There is an unlimited supply of pilots. Death blow to Allegiant? Why?
I get you are upset, we all are. This company goes out of its way to **** on us. But pilots will still come and we will still continue to win arbitrations one by one as demonstrated over the last few years.
